Weight Problem
New Year’s resolutions
and for most Indians, losing weight and getting in better shape topped that
list. Studies have shown that losing as little as 5% of body weight can
dramatically improve chances of pregnancy- and we’re not just talking about the
female partner here – men can improve their fertility by losing weight too.
Sticking to a healthy diet that contains a good mix of fruits, vegetables, lean
proteins, grains and dairy, and fitting in physical activity on most days of
the week can help them reach or maintain a healthy weight. During this time of
the year many of us are still thinking about our recent
Excess Smoking
Consuming
Smoking beverages lessens sperm count and concentration as well as the
percentage of normal sperm what appears to be happening is that smoking-damaged
sperm lose much of their ability to fight off destructive oxygen molecules --
free radicals -- in the seminal fluid. Interestingly, in addition to making
sperm cells more sensitive to oxidation stress, smoking itself increases the
concentration of free radicals in the seminal fluid.
Reduce alcohol
Alcohol affects your liver function causing a dramatic rise in your estrogen levels when this happens the estrogen could interfere with your body sperms production negatively five units of alcohol every week could reduce the quality of a man’s sperm, new research suggests. And the more alcohol consumed, the weaker the quality of the sperm, the study found. Men of a reproductive age should be advised to steer clear of habitual drinking, the authors said.

Causes of Drugs and Medicines
For males, United Nation Organisation has
prescribed significant medication for pre-existing ailments like infectious
disease, typhoid, T.B., influenza, brucellosis and Venus's curse may expertise
issues. The prescribed medication may also affect the rate of sperm production.
Those using illicit drugs such as anabolic steroids may have shrunk their
testicles, affecting their ability to produce adequate sperm. Use of cocaine,
marijuana etc. also affect the sperms count.

Emotional stress
Researchers found that men with higher levels of both short- and
long-term stress and anxiety ejaculated less semen and had lower sperm
concentration and counts. Psychological stress is harmful to sperm and semen
quality of the males, affecting its concentration, appearance, and ability to
fertilize an egg, according to a study. It is not fully understood how stress
affects semen quality. It may trigger the release of steroid hormones called
glucocorticoids, which in turn could blunt levels of testosterone and sperm
production. Another possibility is oxidative stress, which has been shown to
affect semen quality and fertility
